A Peaceful Noise returns with Frank Turner and Libertines members

Last year marked the inaugural A Peaceful Noise in aid of the Nick Alexander Memorial Trust and now the event is back for another year with a stellar line-up.

The Nick Alexander Memorial Trust has announced the first acts to be confirmed for this year’s A Peaceful Noise.

The event was established in loving memory of Nick Alexander – who was among those tragically killed in the terrorist attack at the Eagles of Death Metal Bataclan gig in November 2015 whilst working as their merch manager. A Peaceful Noise is set to take place at the ULU Live in London on 25 November 2017.

You can expect performances from Iggy Pop-championed trio, False Heads, and an acoustic set by Nick Alexander friend Frank Turner. On 26 November 2015, Frank Turner played London’s Alexandra Palace just days after the attacks at the Bataclan and with a newly arranged, slower interpretation of Demons, a song of his latest album Positive Songs For Negative People, people came together and the song became Nick’s song.

This year will also feature a club night named More Peaceful Noise – Official After Party, a special night of rock ‘n’ roll with back-to-back DJ sets from The Libertines’ Carl Barât and Gary Powell.

Money raised on the night will once again go towards the Nick Alexander Memorial Trust, to continue to award grants for musical equipment to community and small charitable groups within the UK, and Josh Homme’s Sweet Stuff foundation, which helps musicians and their families in need.

Last year’s event raised £30,141.06 for both organisations and included performances from Maximo Park, Frank Turner, Gaz Coombes and Fran Healy from Travis. It as an absolute blast, an emotional roller-coaster of the best kind, proof that music especially will not be defeated.
