Could this be a sign of more things to come? Let’s hope so!
Arctic Monkeys have announced their first show of 2018 wit a festival set at Delaware’s Firefly Music Festival from 14 – 16 June. Rumor has it that the band have been working tirelessly on album number 6, and on Alex Turner’s beard.
The festival will see the ban headlining amongst Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and The Killers at The Woodlands. You can get your tickets tomorrow.
But that’s not all the band have announced, they also teased some potential more live dates, or their new album, (or maybe also just an update on Alex’s beard) via their Instagram story earlier today via a very cryptic video.
One of THE hottest albums rumored for 2018 is a new Arctic Monkeys record. The album would come five years after the band’d massive success with AM – a tough one to follow up, but we have faith in Alex Turner since the follow-up to his solo project with Miles Kane, The Last Shaddow Puppets, Everything You’ve Come To Expect was extraordinary with eight years since the debut release. In an interview with motorcycle magazine The Ride, bassist Nick O’Malley said the album should be out next year and “if it isn’t, we’ve got problems”.
Here’s to hoping we’ll get a new album and a few UK dates this year as well.
